🌻Hey there! I’ve been delayed with writing my weekly article, as I know it would happen at some point in my travel… So here’s the update from a few weeks ago, that I still really want to share with you!

Tuesday: change of plan — and it’s already so rare that I have one. Let's not go to Çeşme. Let's do more nature instead. I'm so down for it.

I've been in touch with my two Danish girls, who I met on the night train from Sofia to Istanbul. And we said we'd love to travel South of Türkiye together. We first chose to visit Çeşme. This little sea town, where a lot of people go during summer. However, we're getting told more and more that this town is going to be dead empty and closed as we're out of season. The day before our meet-up, we decided to cancel our Çeşme plan — cancel is a big word as we had nothing booked, but you know what I mean. The girls offer that I join their Workaway on a farm nearby for a few days while we plan what to do next together. Sure! Why not? I then arrive at Sureya’s farm. Let this new adventure begin. 🚜👩‍🌾

Yasemin and Yalçin drop me off. It's like mom and dad leaving their kid for summer camp. Yalçin tells me, "If there's anything, you call me, and I'll pick you up. You can always come back to our house". How sweet... They meet Sureya and take a look around the farm, and this time it's Yasemin who tells me, "Yes, it's okay, I think you will be good here". Basically giving me her green light 😊 It's time to say goodbye, and Yasemin and I can't hold our tears. She has been taking care of me like a mom, and I will be forever grateful to this family. ❤️

I meet again with Freya and Caroline, and it makes me so happy! That's also another beautiful part of travelling: how you meet these super inspiring people, and they make you just want to keep going with them. We just click and are aligned on many levels, which is why I know that travelling together will be super easy.

I meet with Chloe, who's volunteering at Sureya's farm as well. We are 4 girls, and there's an amazing atmosphere. There's not too much work because of the season, so we're mainly 🍳cooking and 🪵cutting some small wooden branches on the side of the road. Which is quite hilarious when you see the size of the twigs we’re cutting, cutting them into smaller pieces. We’re joking around, wondering what the next step would be, organise them by size maybe? Other farmers who are passing by can't help giggling at us. I guess it's a way to give us some work when there's not that much to do hahaha. Anyway, it's extremely enjoyable to be in the middle of nowhere and living a very slow life. Comfort is not exactly the main advantage, but it's still very relaxing. We go for walks, do some pilates on the rooftop, and enjoy being a little female crew. After a few days there, we have somewhat figured out our itinerary for the coming weeks with Freya and Caroline, so we hop on a bus to our next adventure!

👋🏼 Bye Sureya & Mesut, bye the farm life (for now…)
